Belle Isle Family CentreProjects: Family Development Project

The Family Development project has been funded by the Leeds Children’s Fund since 2003 and was initially set out to provide support to children aged between 5-13 years and their families. In recent years this has been expanded to incorporate work with children under 5.  



Services provided:

  • Support included one to one work with the child
  • Parenting and behaviour management
  • After-school groups - we currently have two weekly after-school groups, a  Friends club for children aged 5-8 years of age and  Kidzone for 8- 11 years
  • Holiday play-schemes
  • Community cohesion work with children in year 7 and 8 attending South Leeds High School in partnership with ASHA Neighbourhood Project.
  • Community cohesion work with women
  • Confidence building and assertiveness courses.
  • Baby and toddler groups
  • Crèche provision
  • Tea- time club
  • Christmas grotto
  • Adult Courses e.g. beauty therapy
  • Girls group



Referrals

We take referrals from agencies and self referrals.
